OK Gang,

 

The time is drawing near for the Fun Fest Festivities. The schedule is
posted on the club web site, please check it out.

 

We are asking those of you who can, to bring either a dessert or an
appetizer. The club is providing a Southern BBQ. We will have:

.         Pulled Pork

.         BBQ Chicken

.         Sausages

.         Potato Salad

.         Cole Slaw

.         Baked Beans

.         Plus 4 different sauces for the above

 

The board also decided to keep the dues at the bargain price of $2.50 per
month to be paid annually. AND we also decided to continue the two free
classes that we offered last year PLUS we will continue to offer one $25
rebate per family membership for a class taken at one of our supporting
outfitters - in North to South Order

.         Paddlesports of Santa Barbara

.         Xstreamline - Wilmington

.         Southwind Kayak Center - Irvine

.         Aqua-Adventures - San Diego

Now this is what your Club can do for you - but what can you do for the
club?

 

Now that we are getting warmer weather, how about hosting a paddle. There
are a number of members who are entry level paddlers who don't want to try
and tackle some of the adventures of our more fearless members. These people
may not want to challenge Dumpy yet. How about some of you planning some
paddles in the local harbors, Ventura, Oxnard, Marina Del Rey, Newport,
Mission Bay, etc. You don't need to be an expert kayaker to host a paddle.
All that is required is that you let people know where and when you want to
paddle.

 

This is a great way to meet new friends and have a fun outing too. If you
need help, our county coordinators, our more experienced members, and the
board are willing to help. Just let us know.

 

Remember, the club is only as good as WE make it. Without active
participation from the members, it won't go anywhere. So if there is a
particular place you'd like to paddle, why not try and invite some others to
join you. 

 

Who knows, you might even like it.

PS Please bring chairs and drinks for yourself to the FEST and a table if
you have one. Don't forget quarters for parking too.
