[CKF Info] Earth Day Beach Clean up by kayak April 19th

Considering it was a gloomy overcast morning 3 of us showed up today to help clean our waterways, the Ventura Harbor, by kayak.  

We found the traditional small pieces of plastic, aluminum cans, Styrofoam cups, glass and plastic bottles, plastic strips, deflated balloons with strings hanging, to the non-traditional, a motor part too heavy to bring up, half a plastic box containing a vise-grip and an assortment of tools still in good shape-meaning not too rusted, and a stern light that after a good cleaning might still work!  Yuck, it was loaded with 4 decaying batteries!

We agreed there seems to be less trash each time we go out to clean the harbor but until the day arrives that there is NO trash at all, we decided we will continue to come out and clean it!  After all it is fun (no Haz-Mat pay though), we get a little exercise (really just a little) and we make the water a better place for it's inhabitants and consumers (we saw several schools of tiny fish).
