[CKF Info] CKF: Haskell's Beach to El Capitan 5/11/08 11AM

Join me for an intermediate paddle from Haskell's Beach
to El Capitan on Sunday, May 11 at 11AM. This is
paddle will take us along one of the prettiest and least 
developed shorelines near Santa Barbara, and is one of my 
favorite trips. It will be a solid 10 mile round trip. 
Sometimes there can be natural tar on the water 
(this is cleaned up easily with vegetable oil).

Directions:

- Driving North on 101 all the way past Goleta, take 
  the Winchester Canyon Road exit. Don't turn right 
  onto WCR but go straight instead. 
- Turn left, crossing over 101 onto Hollister.
- Turn right, towards the golf course, keep going
  past it until you see the parking lot of the Bacara 
  on your left.

I believe there may be 2 parking areas, take the first one
off to the left, don't get onto the resort area. Best is to 
Google for "Bacara resort Goleta" and check it on the map.
There is a 50 m walk to the beach. 

You must wear a PFD, and for closed deck boats,
a spray skirt. This is not a paddle for beginners.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety. 
We will paddle as a group although we will not keep 
faster paddlers from going ahead should they decide 
to do so at their own risk. The turnaround point may
change depending on the progress of the group.

canceled in case of bad weather.
