[CKF Info] DON'T TRUST THE LIFEGUARDS

Jen, great post. On my website, I claim that I am "pro shark - pro
truth." And I really am. I'm constantly surprised how often (nearly
always) people confuse the fact that I try to expose those who are
less than forthcoming about facts related to shark sighting and
attacks, with the misunderstanding that I am calling for the culling
or destruction of sharks. I think sharks are incredible, flawless
creatures, and I harshly oppose finning and even killing sharks for
sport. But to be quite honest, I'm even more concerned about saving
human life, when telling the truth can actually play a part in saving
someone.
There are more and more people now, it seems, who think that they're
helping conservation efforts of sharks by pretending that sharks don't
ever really want to hurt anyone. My message, my podcasts, are a direct
response to this irresponsible behavior. I know darn well that driving
to the beach will always be much more dangerous than going in the
water. The thing is, you don't have people going around telling you
that car accidents are myths, while you do have that with sharks. I
hope you see the distinction.
I'm sorry if you'd personally rather be told they're nurse sharks
swimming under you. For you, I'd recommend you not go to my site or
listen to my podcasts. But I believe there are many people who want to
be dealt with with more respect and honesty, who want to maintain
their trust in the experts, who want the truth, and they are who I'm
focusing on. If you don't want to hear my message, I can respect that.
But don't lie to me, or try to muzzle me. Just ignore me.
Sincerely,
Kevin Harris
