Dennis is right, soak it... use warm water.
I've also heard that you can put a little vegetable oil on the insert to facilitate ease of removal in the future but I've never tried this.

Mike,The trick seems to be to take them apartas soon as possible while wet. The ONLY time mine are together is when inuse. You might try soaking the paddle prior totrying to separate them in order to dissolve some of the salts and mineralsthat solidify.Be sure to rinse them once apart to removeresidue as well. I believe the paddle manufacturers also recommendstoring them in two pieces with the blades up.Dennis From:info-bounces at list.ckf.org [mailto:info-bounces at list.ckf.org] On Behalf Of MJKory at aol.com

Subject: [CKF Info] Stuck PaddleHalves I used my composite 'Swift'paddle this weekend, and the two halves are now solidly stuck together. This happened the last time I used it also. I'm sure I'll get itapart with the help of a couple strong associates, but I would appreciateany advice on how to prevent it getting stuck again? I've read about thisproblem several times, but I don't recall what was recommended. Thanks for anyhelp. Mike Kory
