Subject: [CKF Info] Rogue Otters

It was my pleasure to house a couple Rogue Otters who washed up on shore
at the Newport Coast Guard beach yesterday.
Jerry Sparks and Brett Tanner are the kind of people you feel you can
call friends after one night of gabbing around the kitchen table. The
adventure they embarked on in honor of their friend and to support the
Vasculitis Foundation is inspiring.

I think it's easy for those of us who've read the stories of other great
expeditions to take for granted one new trip, but when you hear the
stories first person, you realize cheating death is cheating death
whether someone has passed by that piece of coast before or not! It is
even more impressive that Jerry and Brett were mostly just recreational
kayakers before deciding to plan this trip in honor of their friend.

I wish them good paddling on the completion of their journey.

Mark
