Subject: Symposium

Had a really good time at the symposium. I always feel so welcome with my fellow CKFers, like I have been a member for a long time, I'm only sorry that I could only stay one day.

I learned a lot on the water and while I was hanging upside-down (alot) in the rolling class I was able to develop a new kayak invention.

While I was hanging in the murky, weedy backwater, I thought to my self, 'self' what I would really like is a way to breathe about now.

I came up (for air and) with a system not unlike the backpack hydration systems that some of us carry on our backs, only different.

I'm thinking that one could have a thru-hull fitting in the very bottom of the boat with a hose leading up to the shoulder of ones PFD so that when the bottom becomes the top one would have a snorkel to the surface. With this device one could hang as long as one wanted to sort out the set up for ones roll and when said roll failed one you could think about what went wrong and then try again.

As accessory to this could be another thru-hull that would launch flares and/or a beacon light.

As a last resort, failing the feasibility of all of the above, I guess that a reliable roll would, maybe, be a good idea.

Guess I'll have to work on that.
