[CKF Info] Hully Rollers and the goo they leave behind

When loading and unloading my boat, the Hully Rollers leave a trail of
dark goo on the bottom of my boat.
 
1.  How do I get the goo off the bottom of my kayak?  What poisonous
chemical is strong enough to remove that junk?
 
2.  What's a good way to get the goo off the Hully Roller so it doesn't
continue to mark the boat?  
 
3.  What causes that goo in the first place?
