[CKF Info] Where in the world is Jen?

Hi Henk,
I used to do what you have done with your GPS and a mapping program that I
have. However, the reason I have the SPOT is not for saving tracks of my
paddles, but that is a nice side benefit. The reason I have it is to be able
to call for help when I need it or to show my wife where I am and that I'm
ok in real time.
I can't do that with my GPS and mapping software. The SPOT doesn't replace
my GPS - it is in addition to for other reasons.
The GPS gives me other info such as what you mentioned. For example, I
didn't put down that our total distance was 8.5 NM and that our average
moving speed was 3 knots (probably more, because even when we are stopped,
we are still moving enough with the swell, wind, and currents to register on
the gps as moving).
They are different tools for different reasons, but some of the info they
provide overlaps. The few points you saw (there were 6),occurred only when I
pushed the "OK" button to send my location and the fact that I was OK.
Depending when you logged onto the shared page, some of the points would
have started dropping off as it only displays points for the last 24 hours.
Right now for example, there would be no points showing and a map on a map
of the world.
